My granny would always tell me, “I did the best I could with what I had,” when referencing her wardrobe, hair and accessories in her younger days. Mind you, the woman went through the great depression era. The other saying you would often hear is, “I may not have been slim, but I was surely clean.” Well, and there was… ” I don’t feel good, my incisions hurt,” or “I feel ‘swelt‘ up.” That was her way of disclosing to anyone that would listen…to the fact that her belly was bloated! Looking back, she probably had gluten intolerance, But I digress.

She would always tell me about her financial struggles and how she did her best to be fashionable and cute despite the situation with her finances.

Doing the best you can with what you have must surely have meant, that financially and appearance-wise, you do what you can!

I share that tale just to highlight the fact that I love blending a Johnny Was silk top and bag with Forever 21 short and Gucci belt. I do not think everything has to be super expensive. Nothing wrong with saving a buck here or there because that’s just more money to apply towards must-haves.

I suppose collectively my points are to apologize for the fact that I am not your standard looking blogger. I notice that there are so many pretty girls and ladies in their fabulous Nordstrom outfits with their Starbucks in their hand. If you click their link, they earn commission on what you buy.

I’m just over here in my corner being me. I enjoy having a creative outlet. While I do have Bosscat Beauty on the side, I do not work as hard on that as I should! Just creating the product, designing the boxes and building the website is a lot to take care of! I also have www.kstennisusa.com with my husband so that takes up some of my time as well! He is a very hard worker and will probably be in tennis on the court until the bitter end!

It was literally 98 degrees on this day and that he stopped to snap even one photo was nice. I also tricked him into standing still for a moment to let me take his photo in our new t-shirts! I actually plan on creating a cool outfit with my KS Tennis t-shirt on, but he laughed. I might even wear sneakers, who knows!

I just wanted to chat a bit about my thoughts with the little blog post, or else it’s just throwing pictures up that are marginal at best. Just know that I love my little blog because I have learned so much! Some of what I have learned has helped me to build side businesses and just grow my knowledge base in general!

MY CHRISTMAS 2013

Christmas Decor, Animal Print Christmas tree, black paint, living room

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and may God bless you all! My flu bug is fading away this Christmas morning, so I’m happy.

I’d managed to prepare a prime rib roast, and it slow cooked itself in the over as we slept.  I was happy to see that the $70 cut of meat hadn’t dried out and burned itself, and instead was so juicy and moist, that a knife wasn’t needed to eat it.  Instead, it would just fall apart with a little probing by a fork!

The rosemary/thyme recipe was one from a friend, Evangeleena, who is the most amazing cook.

My snowman collection grew by one member this year, which is the tradition!  He’s the guy on the left with the red scarf!  They are so funny, happy and cute! I love them!

After getting home from work, (yes, with the flu) I then took a two hour nap, took a lot of medicine, made our Christmas Eve dinner highlighted by the prime rib, and then rushed to the candlelight service at our church.

We have a very small family, so pretty much it’s just us!  It’s nice and peaceful this way.  There will be a movie date, later today, as well an an evening drive with hot chocolate and the babies, through a close neighborhood that is 100% lit up with Christmas lights!

I just wanted to drop a quick salutation to all of you on this special holiday!  Although mine is low key, that’s how we roll!
