ANAVITA

I receive so many products to review every single month, that it can become overwhelming.  Or underwhelming as the case may be!

This month has been insane, but I wanted to bust out the video equipment and share this amazing Anavita creme with you!  I use cremes in many different price points, and to me, it’s all about the science, so listen to the quick video and if you’re interested in learning more…the links are provided below!

ARGAN OIL REVIEW from INSTANATURAL

You may find this hard to believe, but snow white hair does not grow naturally out of my head.  I am actually a dark haired American Indian girl.  There was a mix up somewhere and my hair doesn’t know that it should be growing in blonde.  Because of this, I am forced to color my hair.snow white hair, Argan oil, hair repair,Instanatural, serum, oil for hair, over 40, bloggers over 40, Stephanie Sjoberg, smokey eye, MAC lip color, Saint Germain pink, lashes, contour,

Coloring your hair is not a good and healthy thing.  It’s just not.  It’s damaging to shiny, straight dark hair.  So be it.  Due to this hair murder, I am always seeking out repair products to help give the illusion of healthy, virgin hair.

I was extremely happy to hear that I would be trying out some products from Instanatural , some of which were for hair!

The first time I tried the Argan Oil, which is actually for the skin, hair, face and nails…I was truly impressed.  The photo above is from the first time of trying the oil, then curling my hair.  I actually was complimented by strangers and friends from the moment I started using the oil, so when I added the Argan conditioning mask when I washed it the next day, there was even more of a difference!

I’m thinking I can grown out my hair another 3 feet due to the amazing conditioning effects of these products.  I am new to Argan oil and really didn’t even know what it was, so I did some research.

SIX SHOTS: JANUARY 2015

golden nugget casino, decor, Lake Charles,

1.  January 1st

This light fixture (one of many in this style) that is at The Golden Nugget in Lake Charles was inspiring to me.  I love all things decor and design and I was moved by the artistry.  We were there for a quick trip at the first of the month, and I will be going back soon to do a blog post! Well, and possibly some over eating and mayhem!

2. Lake Charles

We did a blog post from Lake Charles on a winter day this past month.  I love this shot my husband took.  It was a fun day even though it was a very cold and dreary. While I do see that I need to start paying more attention to the back of my hair, it was a road trip day and an awesome memory!

3.  FAITH

January started off fabulous, and ended up kind of rocky.  Life is not always fair and basically, if you didn’t know…people suck.  My faith in God and the Bigger Picture keeps me going, so when I came across this large great metal cross which I hung on the brick wall by our front door, I thought it would be a perfect reminder of  the bigger picture.  I love that it’s hanging on the front wall, and it gives me a smile every time I go in and out of the house.  I believe.  I have hope and faith.  My home is my happy place.

4.  Hello Kitty Glitter Nails

Every morning, the thing that helps me get up is my morning routine.  There’s comfort in knowing that a hot cup of coffee in my favorite Hello Kitty mug will be my happy place as I let the dogs out, let the dogs in, get their treat, and sit with my coffee as I gather up the inertia to start my beauty routine and get out the door.  Hello Kitty cracks me up and makes me happy on the inside. She always has.  I find happiness in peaceful moments and the little things.  In the morning, I like my quiet time.  As for the nails, I’ve gotten a wee but crazy with the glitter powder.  Considering that I wear a lot of black, the nails don’t look too insane.  I look like a total kooky character with my morning coffee and the nails, so I thought it was a great Saturday morning shot for Instagram!

5. MY HURR

I got a hair cut from my friend Angel and posted a quick picture on Instagram.  She’s a really fun lady and knows everything there is to know about hair.  She understands that everyone can’t have the same hair cut.  Your head shape, hair texture, face shape and thickness of hair all play a part in how a cut will turn out.  If you live in Houston, you should call  her for a consultation if you’re in that place where it’s time to change hairdressers! Click her name above and it will take you to her site!

6. VIAGRA SALES WOMAN

This is a fuzzy cell phone picture that I took while that annoying Viagra commercial came on t.v. for the millionth time.  I can’t figure out why they put these types of women on Viagra commercials. ( Natural, seasoned by time.) I am positive that tons of research is done, when attempting to decide on what type of woman is needed to sell Viagra.

My husband laughed when I commented that this spokesperson has “slutty” eyebrows.  I then checked with ladies I knew, and everyone agrees…this is a slutty eyebrow.

If we could see the research, they chose a woman clearly over 40, in shape, but loose fitting clothing, good looking, and speaking suggestively, yet still maintaining a somewhat professional demeanor.  I believe the loose clothing on a fit woman, makes a man’s mind wander more than a half naked woman. Slutty eyebrows are a necessity.  I believe they send an unspoken message. The make up isn’t perfect.  Hair is messy.  So she either just got out of bed, or is about to go to bed, or wants to go to bed…if only her man would pop a Viagra!  Too funny.

On a personal note, Viagra is not needed in my house at this juncture.  Just sayin. I was married before, so I chose very carefully this time.

SIX SHOTS: DECEMBER, TWO THOUSAND and FOURTEEN

IMG_20141224_113254

1. MERRY CHRISTMAS MAKEUP

Since I work in cosmetics, I like to photograph makeup colors and techniques, but it’s an art! It’s not the same thing as a “selfie” in that you are photographing the colors of the nails, lippies, or shadows.

2. RICH GIRL NECKLACE

I decided to work on my up close shots, and loved how this blingy rich girl necklace photo came out, complete with glitter nails and studded collar! Nails are another thing that’s really hard to photograph well with out plenty of practice!

3.  KS TENNIS USA

Since I am the “S” in KSTENNISUSA.COM (or so I am told)  I help out with various media work.  My husband loves teaching tennis and takes it very seriously, so I had fun trying to capture his persona and work ethic in some new shots I took for the new website launch! He helps me with so much and is a true friend, so it’s always great when I can help him to grow his passion!

4.  AVENTUS

There are some men’s fragrances that I absolutely adore, and when I took a photo of Aventus by House of Creed, I loved the way it turned out, although it was just a camera phone shot!  The crazy silver and black glitter nails looked appropriate with the packaging, and the article on my Top 5 Men’s Fragrances can be seen here!

5.  BLACK WINTER SUNDAY

One of the very few fashion posts I did in December was Black Winter Sunday.  Any time my husband snaps a photo in which he actually focuses, is a rare and pleasant thing. :0  It’s worth mentioning that this is a real outfit, that I really wore, when I really had some place to go.  I will say, that hats are more for ease  to me than for glamour.  The girl in front of me in church, who had hair extensions crash and burn because it was so humid, wet and cold…probably wished she was cool enough for a hat. Just sayin.

6.  MAKEUP ARTIST

I think of makeup artistry is an art form. A lot of us have made the product searches and trials a bit of a hobby, as well as a career.  Photographing makeup is harder than it looks!  I mainly use my Instagram account for fragrance, cosmetics, decor tidbits and such.  It’s so much faster to post a fun lip color pic here and there on Instagram.  You know what though?  I think it’s creepy when the last 8 photos on a person’s Instagram account, are all of their own face, so I do try to keep my own makeup shots to a minimum. Plus, I’m old and I have a sleepy eye when I’m tired.   Unless you are a Krisspy or Amrezy level of a makeup artist…it’s probably best to filter in something other than your own face. Just sayin.
