Magnificent Magnolias!

Perhaps you’ve already read the blog, in which I proclaim vanilla to be the base signature scent I use and which rocks me to my core. So imagine my suprise when I came across Aerin Lauder’s Private Collection, Magnolia Tuberose, and totally fell in love.
It was first released in 2007, in limited distribution, on only just recently began wider distribution.
I loved it and wore it for a week, and decided it was totally not in my character to adore a floral scent so much, so I decided to do research.
Tuberose Gardenia is a relatively new scent, born in 2007 of Aerin Lauder, the granddaughter of Estee Lauder. With the top note including lilac, the middle with gardenia, tuberose and more, finding out the base note is what got my attention. It is an intoxicating mixture of carnation and vanilla bourbon! From what I gather, the gardenia and rose are what you basically smell, and it’s very strong, but the vanilla bourbon sweetens up the scent even more.
So, having been added to my collection, it stays in line with my base signature vanilla scent and enhances my ability to imprint like a fiend, I now have a strong floral which will still smell like me, since I am remaining in the vanilla realm of scent I have created for myself.
Scent is, after all, a tool. It sends a message. There are all types of studies on scent and it’s ability to change mood and help one’s perception of the wearer. There are even studies on scent worn at job interviews that prove the importance of scent and perceptions created by different notes.
This is a special fragrance that I love and I wanted to share!
