  1.  MEASURABLE DIFFERENCE BAKED BLUSH & BLANCA

I recently had an opportunity to try Measurable Difference Baked Face Blush.  It’s great and natural looking, but it’s super hard to photograph blush on a pale person!  I was taking photos in an attempt to show off the natural rose colored blush, but Blanca, my new adopted family member was determined to play and get attention. We snapped a picture and I love it.  You can see the blush without it being too much, and Blanca is the most protective, fun, loving little fur ball! You can check out all the beauty products at chrislie.com !

2.  THE WOODLANDS

The Woodlands, Texas is home.   It’s my stomping ground.  My neighborhood.  I stopped to snap this cell phone pic one night last month because the sky was creepy and haunting. Love.

3.  RODEO

Occasionally, I still have time to fashion blog.  I chose the fun top from Johnny Was above, because it’s Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo time in Houston now, and that’s when we all get back in touch with our cowgirl side.  The plaid, embroidered button up is fun and real at the same time.  In fact, I titled the post “Real” because it’s true.  I am a Texas girl.  For a bleached blonde with fake lashes, I am real. I can shoot a gun, catch a fish, I would love to go camping – but no one will take me, I adore animals and would love nothing more to live out in the middle of nowhere and have chickens.  I probably shouldn’t wear denim that short at my advanced age, but the Texas in me really doesn’t give a damn. Just sayin.

4.  HIGHLAND VILLAGE

This is my Houston work view every day, and I absolutely adore my Houston palm trees.  I’ve always planted tons of tropicals and palms in my yards along life’s way, and they just make my soul happy.  There’s quite a few pictures in my cell of this same view because I always try to catch it on pretty days.

5.  VALENTINE’S PARTY

We decided to have a Valentine’s  themed event at work for our clients and of course that included a photo booth!  And cupcakes. And chocolate. We took a bunch of goofy shots after it was over so I’d wanted to show off some of our stylists from Johnny Was Houston!  I totally love my job and that’s been something I’ve not been able to say for years.  No one is outright insane, or terribly hard to deal with. That’s rare in any work environment. I’m trying to think if I know of anyone that’s totally happy with their work environment. If you have that, enjoy it!

6.  PET HOARDER

I adopted Blanca this month.  It’s totally changed the home life to have an extra face staring at you at all times.  Having needs and wants.  To be honest, I adopted her for Bella because Jazzy is not doing well and we know we won’t have her much longer.  We knew Jazzy was easy going enough to enjoy having an extra soul around, but that it would take some psychology to get Bella to adjust!  It’s funny because they are frenemies but Bella is warming up!  If you’re nice to Blanca, Bella gives you the stink eye! If you brush our Blanca’s snow white locks, there is Bella wanting her hair brushed as well.  This is super funny because she has no hair but the look on her face is priceless!  Three dogs is way more than two, for sure. Blanca needed a home, and her foster mom had trouble finding a family for her.  We met by chance, within a week of me deciding it was time to adopt again.  Adopting a pet that is close to a year old, has so many advantages.  I do not adore having to go through that puppy stage!  Blanca was already potty trained so that’s always a plus.  Adopting is a great way to go because there are so many pets out there needing a home.  You say you just have to have a full breed? No worries…there are tons of ignorant people out there who felt the same way, paid top dollar and then bailed on the upkeep of a pet after 6 months or a year, and there’s tons of rescue groups out there searching for homes for those same full breed dogs. Bella was a breeder dog, who was taken to a shelter to be put to sleep, once her owner had gotten enough babies out of her.  Blanca is a Coton de Telear, which is pretty fancy, and I only came across her by accident.  She has hair as opposed to fur and really doesn’t shed at all, despite her furry look.  Jazzy is my prized accomplishment because I took care of her for over 14 years, which is longer than any marriage I’ve had! All of these lovely little beings add so much joy to my home and life and they all have one thing in common…they didn’t have a home and a person to love, which is their main purpose. I urge you to at least consider adoption before purchasing a pet.
