I was lucky enough to be asked to try Formulate! I was able to go online, and choose my preferences for my own personal hair needs.

My hair is bleached. It is long, and I live in a very humid city! Oh…and I’m over 50. Any good hair day is an accomplishment so having the best shampoo and conditioner is a must! My hair sucks in moisture so it’s very hard to survive those really wet days! It’s also hard to keep it somewhat healthy and presentable on the daily! I answered a few questions about my hair, and I love the new formula that was specifically for me and my hair challenges!

In these photos, you can’t it, tell but it’s high humidity and heat, so the fact that my hair doesn’t look like a used Q-tip is amazing!

My granny would always tell me, “I did the best I could with what I had,” when referencing her wardrobe, hair and accessories in her younger days. Mind you, the woman went through the great depression era. The other saying you would often hear is, “I may not have been slim, but I was surely clean.” Well, and there was… ” I don’t feel good, my incisions hurt,” or “I feel ‘swelt‘ up.” That was her way of disclosing to anyone that would listen…to the fact that her belly was bloated! Looking back, she probably had gluten intolerance, But I digress.

She would always tell me about her financial struggles and how she did her best to be fashionable and cute despite the situation with her finances.

Doing the best you can with what you have must surely have meant, that financially and appearance-wise, you do what you can!

I share that tale just to highlight the fact that I love blending a Johnny Was silk top and bag with Forever 21 short and Gucci belt. I do not think everything has to be super expensive. Nothing wrong with saving a buck here or there because that’s just more money to apply towards must-haves.

I suppose collectively my points are to apologize for the fact that I am not your standard looking blogger. I notice that there are so many pretty girls and ladies in their fabulous Nordstrom outfits with their Starbucks in their hand. If you click their link, they earn commission on what you buy.

I’m just over here in my corner being me. I enjoy having a creative outlet. While I do have Bosscat Beauty on the side, I do not work as hard on that as I should! Just creating the product, designing the boxes and building the website is a lot to take care of! I also have www.kstennisusa.com with my husband so that takes up some of my time as well! He is a very hard worker and will probably be in tennis on the court until the bitter end!

It was literally 98 degrees on this day and that he stopped to snap even one photo was nice. I also tricked him into standing still for a moment to let me take his photo in our new t-shirts! I actually plan on creating a cool outfit with my KS Tennis t-shirt on, but he laughed. I might even wear sneakers, who knows!

I just wanted to chat a bit about my thoughts with the little blog post, or else it’s just throwing pictures up that are marginal at best. Just know that I love my little blog because I have learned so much! Some of what I have learned has helped me to build side businesses and just grow my knowledge base in general!

People often start to tell me about the many t.v. series that they watch each week. I’ve never watched one episode of Game of Thrones, Real Housewives or The Bachelor series – after season 1, so it’s been a while since the bachelor has been on my t.v. screen. While we do have a show or two that we like, we have other interests.

Since I work outside the home, I cherish my free time. I water and trim my plants, hang with the dogs and the yard is my favorite spot to sit and sip coffee while I watch the news. The real news. Not mainstream propaganda. But I digress! My point is that I do not spend a lot of time being hypnotized by the t.v. set. If I died tomorrow, I’d rather spend my day watching birds sing and fly about – because it’s what’s real, rather than sit in front of the mind control machine being spoon fed liberal insanity. (That AOC chick is clearly not well.) Actually, she’s so not well, it makes me think I actually could run for congress one day. I am at least able to write correctly and use proper grammar. I say that because I actually did read the Green New Deal. It looked like a 6th grader on meth wrote it.

I love the ancient art of homemaking and wanted to share a few photos of my summer cottage. (Yes, I am being funny!) Our home is not a cottage, or maybe it is, I don’t know. What is a cottage?

Well, according to Wikipedia…. A cottage is, typically, a small house. It may carry the connotation of being an old or old-fashioned building. In modern usage, a cottage is usually a modest, often cosy dwelling, typically in a rural or semi-rural location. That’s me!

So I guess that means we have a cottage! Our home is one story, not very large and not at all a modern design on the outside. It has white columns, a covered porch across the front with black shutters at the windows. Very old school Americana. Although the interior is sort of Z’Gallerie meets Versaille..(see it here)…the outside was very basic so I decided to have the outside painted the same charcoal gray color as the inside to create the illusion of decorative continuity and drama. It was a cream color with red brick previously, and although it is darker now, it looks richer and helped to give it a more substantial, customized look.

Each spring, I try to make some yard improvements so that it will keep getting fuller and richer. I hate seeing wooden fence so it is my goal to have it all covered eventually with shrubs, trees or flowers.

I enjoy being home very much and still have more projects going on but I am pleased with how many improvements we’ve made in such a short time on the inside as well as the outside.

I am a bird lover and nature lover, so it’s been a treat to be in a scenario again where I can witness a lot of nature up close. Except for snakes. Snakes are disgusting and have no business in the circle of life. In my humble opinion.
